AI: The Somnium Files

Detective visual novel where you investigate serial murders by diving into suspects' dreams. You play as Date, a cop with a cybernetic eye that lets him enter people's subconscious minds. Investigation splits between real-world evidence gathering and surreal dream segments called Somnia, where you solve environmental puzzles to extract locked memories. The dream logic doesn't follow normal rules—objects transform, physics breaks, and symbolic imagery hides literal clues. Multiple branching paths lead to different endings based on which leads you pursue and whose Somnium you prioritize. The cast includes Date's AI partner who lives in his eye socket, a pop idol, a yakuza informant, and others with conflicting testimonies. Dialogue choices and investigation order determine which narrative threads you uncover. Heavy on reading and deduction rather than action.
