Alien Storm is a side-scrolling beat 'em up where you pick one of three characters—a man, a woman, or a robot—to fight off an alien invasion across six to eight missions. Each character has unique weapons: one wields lightning or flames, another calls in airstrikes, and the robot detonates itself then reassembles. Aliens hide inside mailboxes, trash cans, and plants, forcing you to blast everything. Standard punches and kicks handle close combat, while energy-based attacks drain a meter you refill by shooting floating heads. Missions alternate between side-scrolling brawls, shooting gallery segments where enemies pop from windows and doors, and horizontal shooter sections. Energy management matters—special attacks like nuclear strikes wipe the screen but cost heavily. The arcade version supports three players; console ports drop to one or two. Each mission ends with a boss or variant thereof. It's straightforward alien-punching with light resource juggling.
