Altered Beast

Side-scrolling beat 'em up where you punch through Ancient Greece's underworld as a resurrected centurion. Zeus tasks you with rescuing his daughter Athena from Neff, a demon lord. The hook: collect three spirit orbs per stage to morph into creatures like a werewolf, thunder dragon, bear, or tiger—each with unique attacks. You'll fight zombies in graveyards, leeches in caverns, and winged demons in Neff's palace across five levels. Neff shape-shifts into boss forms (giant snail, crocodile worm, rhino-man) that match your current beast. Arcade version's credits show costumed actors, framing the whole thing as a B-movie production. Straightforward brawler with transformation gimmicks and mythological window dressing.
