Astérix & Obélix

A side-scrolling platformer where you play as Asterix or Obelix—or both in local co-op—across ancient Europe circa 50 BC. You're collecting legendary artifacts through multi-stage levels that mix standard platforming with bonus minigames: rugby matches and Olympic competitions in Greece break up the core running and jumping. The game uses password saves to track progress between sessions. Environments shift as you move through different European regions, each presenting its own hazards and enemy types drawn from the comic series. Combat leans on each character's signature moves—Asterix relies on speed, Obelix on brute strength. Two-player mode lets you tackle levels simultaneously rather than taking turns. Expect cartoon physics and sight gags lifted straight from Goscinny and Uderzo's panels. If you grew up reading the comics, the character roster and visual style will feel familiar.
