Child of Light

Side-scrolling RPG where you control Aurora, a princess pulled into Lemuria after the Black Queen steals the Sun, Moon, and Stars. Combat uses an active-time battle system—you and enemies move along a timeline, and interrupting foes at the right moment delays their turns. Aurora flies through hand-painted watercolor environments, solving light platforming puzzles and recruiting party members who join the fight. The story unfolds in rhyming verse. Your goal: recover the three light sources and overthrow the Black Queen. Battles reward timing over button-mashing, and exploration leans on backtracking once you've gained new abilities.
