Children of Morta

Children of Morta is a hack-and-slash roguelike where you play as members of the Bergson family defending their mountain home from a spreading force called the Corruption. Each family member has distinct combat abilities—you'll unlock new characters as the story progresses, switching between them across runs. Dungeons are procedurally generated, and permanent upgrades carry over between attempts. The narrative unfolds through pixel-art cutscenes between expeditions, focusing on the family's relationships and sacrifices rather than a single hero's arc. Death sends you back to the family house to regroup, upgrade, and try again with a different character. It's structured around short runs that build toward longer-term progression.
