Contact Protocol is a starship job simulator where you're the security officer on a mining vessel bound for Ganymede. Your shift: vet incoming ships through comms chatter and corporate records, decide who gets clearance and who gets vaporized, then file the paperwork. The cassette-future setting means analog tech and incomplete databases—you'll cross-reference manifests, interrogate captains, and guess when someone's lying. Moral calls stack up fast: destroy a refugee transport or let it pass and risk your own crew? Between encounters, you chat with the onboard weirdos (a fake therapist, a one-eyed engineer, the ship cat) and fill out forms. Mess up the callsign or spill coffee on the logs, and corporate notices. The loop is investigate, judge, document, repeat until you reach Jupiter's moon or get reassigned to the mines. Works if you like social deduction and don't mind that your job is mostly saying no.
