Dance Dance Revolution Extreme
Dance Dance Revolution Extreme proudly stands as the eighth installment in the beloved DDR series, crafted by Konami. Launched on December 25, 2002, in Japan, it made its way to the PlayStation 2 on October 9, 2003, and arrived in North America a year later on September 21, 2004. While the North American version shares its name with the Japanese original, it features a distinct gameplay experience and tracklist, ultimately earning the accolade of Best Video Game Soundtrack at the 2005 MTV Video Music Awards. This edition boasts an astonishing 240 tracks, making it one of the most expansive soundtracks in the series, with contributions from various Bemani titles. Although the arcade version remained exclusive to Japan, bootlegged setups found their way into numerous U.S. arcades. Dance Dance Revolution Extreme signified a pivotal moment for the franchise, marking a four-year hiatus in arcade releases until the introduction of Dance Dance Revolution SuperNova in 2006.
