Degrees of Separation is a puzzle platformer built around mandatory cooperation between two characters. You control Ember and Rime, who can't physically touch due to a barrier between them. Each character manipulates temperature—Ember brings heat, Rime brings cold—and environmental puzzles require switching between them or coordinating both simultaneously. Water freezes when Rime approaches, plants bloom near Ember, and progression depends on using these opposing effects in tandem. It's playable solo by swapping control or in local/online co-op with a partner. The game leans heavily on its central gimmick: you're constantly thinking about how one character's presence changes the space for the other. If you like puzzlers that force creative use of asymmetric abilities rather than raw reflexes, this delivers that specific challenge across a fantasy setting.
