Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers is a side-scrolling platformer where you control one of two chipmunks through six stages inspired by the Disney cartoon. The hook: you can pick up and throw objects—crates, apples, metal blocks—to defeat enemies or solve environmental puzzles. Most levels let you grab items scattered around, toss them at robot dogs or mechanical threats, and use them as stepping stones to reach higher platforms. The story involves rescuing a kidnapped teammate from Fat Cat's casino after a fake distress call, but the focus is on cooperative play. Two players can tackle stages together, with friendly fire adding chaos. Levels range from city streets to laboratories to a final showdown at Fat Cat's lair. It's straightforward NES-era design: memorize patterns, avoid instant-death pits, don't expect much challenge if you've played similar Capcom titles from that era.
