Donkey Kong Country

Side-scrolling platformer where Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong chase down King K. Rool's Kremling army to reclaim a stolen banana stash. You swap between the two apes—DK hits harder, Diddy moves faster—as you jump, swing, and barrel-blast through jungles, caves, mines, and underwater sections. Pre-rendered 3D visuals gave it a distinct look for its era. Levels hide bonus rooms, shortcuts, and collectibles off the critical path. You'll ride animal buddies (rhinos, ostriches, swordfish) that open alternate routes or smash through walls. Each world shifts the ruleset: mine carts demand timing, water stages add buoyancy, factory zones throw moving platforms. Expect to replay stages hunting secrets you missed the first pass.
