Earth Defense Force 5

Third-person arcade shooter where you're an EDF soldier defending Earth from massive alien swarms in 2022. You'll face waves of giant insects, robots, and other oversized threats across urban and rural battlefields. The game focuses on high enemy counts—dozens or hundreds on-screen at once—and destructible environments that crumble as you fight. Four soldier classes offer different loadouts: ranger with standard weapons, wing diver with jetpacks and energy guns, air raider calling in vehicle support, and fencer wielding heavy artillery. Missions drop better gear as you progress through the campaign. It's built for players who want chaotic action over tactical depth, with split-screen and online co-op available throughout.
