Eye of the Beholder II: The Legend of Darkmoon
First-person dungeon crawler built on AD&D 2nd edition rules. You navigate grid-based environments in and around the Temple of Darkmoon, moving through forests and corridors from your party's perspective. Combat is position-dependent: front-rank characters swing swords and maces in melee range, while back-row members cast spells or use bows and slings. Progression involves managing keys, buttons, and levers to unlock doors, collecting items as you explore, and watching enemies approach tile-by-tile before clashes. Clerics and Paladins cast using holy symbols; mages rely on spell books. The game uses real-time movement with pause-for-orders combat. If you've played grid-based CRPGs where party composition and equipment loadout matter as much as reflexes, this fits that mold.
