F.E.A.R. 3 is a first-person shooter built around co-op, letting you tackle the campaign solo or with a partner via split-screen or online. You start as Point Man, a soldier with reflexes that slow time. Beat a level, and you unlock Paxton Fettel for that same mission—he's a psychic who possesses enemies and suspends objects mid-air. The two are brothers with clashing goals, hunting through the same levels with different abilities. Story picks up nine months after the previous game, with Alma Wade's pregnancy reaching its final stage and a new threat emerging. Levels, cutscenes, and dialogue stay identical regardless of who you're playing, so replay value hinges on how much the distinct playstyles matter to you. It's a straightforward shooter with supernatural horror elements and a mechanical hook in the asymmetric co-op.
