Gears of War 4

Third-person cover shooter where you control JD Fenix and two companions fighting a new hostile force. Your village gets attacked, survivors are taken, and you're tracking down both the kidnapped civilians and whatever's behind the assault. Expect the series' signature stop-and-pop gunfights from behind chest-high walls, chainsaw bayonets on rifles, and cooperative play built for a three-person squad. The campaign centers on rescuing captives while uncovering what this enemy actually is. Combat mixes familiar weapon types with close-quarters executions. If you want a shooter that doesn't pretend cover is optional, this delivers that loop with a mystery-driven narrative.
