Hue is a puzzle platformer built around color manipulation in a grayscale world. You control Hue, whose mother Anne vanished after creating a ring that lets its wearer perceive and shift colors. The core mechanic: cycle through hues to change the world's background color, making obstacles of matching colors disappear. A blue crate becomes passable when you switch the backdrop to blue; a red laser stops blocking your path when the world turns red. Progression means collecting fragments of Anne's research notes, gradually expanding your color palette and unlocking new puzzle layers. The setup is straightforward—match environmental colors to phase objects in or out—but combinations grow trickier as you gain more hues. Works for players who like spatial reasoning puzzles with a clear ruleset and minimal combat.
