Joust

Joust is an arcade fighting-platformer where you control a knight riding a flying ostrich. Using a joystick and single button, you flap to gain altitude and collide with enemy knights mounted on buzzards. The core mechanic: whoever's lance is higher during contact wins, sending the loser tumbling. Defeated enemies drop eggs you must collect before they hatch into tougher foes. Platforms float at different heights, and you'll face a pterodactyl if you linger too long on a stage. Later waves introduce faster enemies and tighter spacing. Success depends on reading enemy movement patterns and managing your vertical position. It's straightforward but demands precise timing—expect to die often while learning the rhythm of flapping and striking.
