Keystone Kapers is a 1983 arcade-style platformer where you chase an escaped thief through a department store. You play as Officer Kelly, navigating escalators and floors to catch Harry Hooligan before he reaches the roof. The thief throws obstacles—shopping carts, biplanes, beach balls—that you must dodge or jump over. You can't stop to fight them; momentum matters. Each level adds more floors and tighter time limits. Miss too many catches and Hooligan escapes. The game uses simple two-button controls: run and jump. Levels loop with increasing difficulty rather than introducing new mechanics. It's straightforward reflex-based chasing with no power-ups or score bonuses beyond the arrest itself. Fans of early '80s arcade games built around one repeated challenge will recognize the formula.
