King's Quest II: Romancing the Throne
A point-and-click adventure where King Graham searches the land of Kolyma for a bride. Your goal: rescue Valanice from a quartz tower where a witch holds her captive. You'll navigate Graham through multiple locations, picking up items and talking to NPCs to solve puzzles blocking your path. The world pulls from fairy tale and folklore sources, so expect encounters with storybook characters and creatures rather than original creations. Puzzles require combining inventory objects with environmental elements—more involved than the first game's challenges. Kolyma offers more ground to cover than Daventry did, with additional screens and branching routes. Valanice's rescue sets up her role in later series entries. If you're comfortable with 1980s adventure game logic (moon logic included) and don't mind typing commands, this expands what the original King's Quest started.
