Kuon is a survival horror game set in 12th-century Japan's Heian period. You play as three characters across separate scenarios: Utsuki, searching for her missing exorcist father Doman in a cursed manor; Sakuya, Doman's disciple venturing into demon-infested depths to prove her worth; and eventually Doman himself, whose perspective unlocks after completing the first two campaigns. The third-person gameplay mixes combat, puzzle-solving, and resource scarcity typical of survival horror. What sets it apart is the magic system—you can learn and cast spells instead of relying solely on melee weapons, and even summon creatures like wolves or spiders to fight alongside you against undead enemies. The three-scenario structure gradually reveals how Utsuki's sister became possessed and transformed into a demon. Expect limited ammunition for physical attacks, so managing spell resources becomes crucial. Good fit for players who want traditional survival horror tension with supernatural abilities woven in.
