Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver

Third-person action-adventure where you play Raziel, a vampire lieutenant executed by his master Kain for the crime of evolving wings first. Centuries after being cast into an abyss, you wake as a wraith—immortal but starving, forced to consume souls to survive. Hunt your former vampire brothers across a decayed Nosgoth, shifting between the material realm and a spectral dimension to solve environmental puzzles. Combat mixes melee with soul-draining attacks, while exploration rewards finding new abilities that unlock previously blocked areas. The wraith form lets you phase through gates and see hidden paths, but you're vulnerable to water and can't touch the Soul Reaver blade until late in the story. Revenge drives the plot, though the Elder God who revived you has motives of his own. Fits players who want gothic atmosphere with Metroidvania-style backtracking.
