Majesty 2 is an indirect-control strategy game where you rule a kingdom but can't directly command your units. Instead of issuing orders, you place bounties and rewards to nudge heroes toward objectives like clearing monster dens or exploring ruins. Heroes are autonomous—they'll pursue gold, level up at guilds, buy gear from your marketplaces, and ignore your priorities if the pay isn't right. You build the infrastructure (temples, guard towers, blacksmiths) while they handle the actual fighting. Success depends on understanding what motivates each class and setting incentives that align their greed with your kingdom's survival. It's management through bribery rather than direct control, which makes planning feel more like herding cats than commanding troops.
