Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker is a stealth-action game split between two modes. Missions drop you into enemy territory for infiltration runs or boss fights. Between operations, you manage Mother Base—recruiting soldiers, researching gear, and building out your private military company. The series' signature crawling is gone: you can't move or fire while prone, and wall-pressing locks you in place. This shifts tactics toward standing engagements and careful positioning. Set in 1974 Colombia, you're running a mercenary outfit that takes contracts from governments in need. An unknown force has occupied the country with advanced weaponry, including a nuclear-equipped weapon called Peace Walker. Your job is dismantling their operation mission by mission while expanding your own army between deployments. The management layer gives downtime structure, though it demands attention if you want better loadouts for harder encounters.
