Metal Slug 2 is a 2D run-and-gun shooter where you blast through side-scrolling levels packed with soldiers, tanks, and eventually aliens. You pick from four characters—two returning, two new—and mow down enemies with pistols, heavy machine guns, rocket launchers, and other pickups scattered across stages. The game adds vehicles like slugs (metal tanks), camels, and even a mecha suit you can pilot. Levels span deserts, cities, and alien motherships. Midway through, the plot pivots: your human enemy General Morden gets betrayed by his Martian allies, forcing a temporary truce. You'll face mummies that slow you down, UFOs dropping laser beams, and screen-filling bosses. Expect constant gunfire, exaggerated explosions, and prisoners to rescue for score bonuses.
