Mortal Kombat 3 is a 2D fighter where you pick a warrior and battle through Shao Kahn's forces after Earth gets merged with Outworld. The run button lets you close distance fast, and dial-a-combo attacks chain moves together with timed button sequences. Matches happen across multi-level arenas with stage-specific fatalities—you can knock opponents into new areas or finish them with environment kills. Versus codes entered before fights unlock hidden abilities for that match. The roster includes returning fighters and new faces, all working to reach Motaro and eventually Shao Kahn himself. Each character has multiple fatalities plus the series' signature brutal finishers. It's built for head-to-head competition, with the run mechanic making fights faster and more aggressive than earlier entries.
