Old School RuneScape is a tab-target MMORPG built on the game's 2007 codebase, preserved and expanded through player polls. You grind skills across 23 different disciplines—woodcutting, smithing, magic, agility, and more—each requiring thousands of repetitive actions to max out. Combat uses a rock-paper-scissors system (melee, ranged, magic) with gear and food management dictating survival. The Wilderness zone enables full-loot PvP where you can lose everything you're carrying. Major updates only ship if 75% of the community votes yes, so features evolve based on what longtime players approve. Progress is deliberately slow; hitting level 99 in one skill can take months. If you want an MMO that respects your time, this isn't it. If you want one that rewards patience and doesn't hold your hand, few games commit harder.
