Orcs Must Die! 3 is a tower defense shooter where you place traps and fire weapons to stop waves of orcs from breaching your fortress. The game adds War Scenarios—large-scale battles where you deploy War Machines like ballistae and catapults to handle hundreds of enemies at once. You'll set up kill corridors using floor spikes, wall-mounted grinders, and magical barriers, then switch to direct combat when orcs break through. Co-op lets two players coordinate trap layouts and split defensive duties. Each level gives you a budget to buy and position defenses before the horde arrives. Between waves, you can adjust your setup. The War Machine segments shift the scale from corridor defense to open-field chaos, where you're managing siege equipment while still dodging orc attacks.
