Osmos
Osmos is an ambient physics puzzler where you control a circular mote trying to grow larger than your surroundings. You absorb smaller motes on contact to increase your mass, but moving requires ejecting matter from your own body—shrinking yourself in the process. Every propulsion decision carries weight: push too hard and you'll become vulnerable; drift too slowly and larger motes will absorb you instead. Later stages introduce orbital mechanics, requiring you to slingshot around attractors or navigate fields of repelling forces. The minimalist electronic soundtrack shifts with each level's physics ruleset. Success depends on reading momentum, timing your moves, and accepting that sometimes patience beats action. It's methodical rather than frantic, rewarding players who can think three moves ahead while their mote drifts through space.
