Pooyan

Pooyan is a 1982 arcade shooter where you play as Mama, a pig defending against wolves trying to steal her piglets. You ride a platform that moves up and down a tree, firing arrows at wolves descending on balloons or climbing ladders. Timing matters—shoot the balloons to drop wolves, or hit them directly. You can also launch meat to distract enemies. The wolves attack in waves, alternating between descending from above and climbing from below. Miss too many and they'll reach you.
