Silent Hill 4 is a survival horror game split between two perspectives. You're trapped in your apartment, viewing it in first person—eyeball icons mark what you can touch. A hole in the bathroom wall leads to portals that dump you into alternate dimensions, explored in third person. Unlike earlier series entries focused on puzzles and town exploration, this one leans harder into combat. Enemies crowd tight corridors, forcing frequent fights with pipes, pistols, and golf clubs. The apartment serves as your hub between nightmare runs. You can't leave through the door or windows, and no one outside hears you banging for help. The setup trades Silent Hill's foggy streets for claustrophobic rooms and dimensional rifts. Expect more direct confrontation than slow-burn dread.
