Space Station 13 is a multiplayer role-playing game where you're part of a space station crew trying to keep things running while chaos erupts around you. Each round assigns you a specific job—engineer, medical staff, security, scientist—and you'll use that role's tools and systems to handle whatever crisis emerges. The station operates on interconnected mechanics: atmospherics can fail, power grids need maintenance, medical bays treat injuries, and security investigates sabotage. What makes it distinct is the emergent storytelling. One player might be a traitor with secret objectives, another dealing with a plasma fire, while someone else is just trying to cook meals in the kitchen. Originally created by Exadv1 in 2003, it's been developed by community members ever since. The learning curve is steep, but if you want unpredictable multiplayer sessions where your role actually matters, this delivers.
