Splitgate is a sci-fi arena shooter where you place portals mid-combat. You're fighting other players in standard FPS modes—team deathmatch, king of the hill—but can open two-way portals on most surfaces. Drop one behind cover, another across the map, and flank someone who thought they were safe. Or portal above an enemy for a vertical angle they didn't expect. The portal placement is instant and works both ways, so you're constantly repositioning while tracking who might pop through your own gates. Maps are compact arenas designed with portal lines in mind. Weapons are straightforward: rifles, snikers, rockets. The skill ceiling comes from reading portal plays and chaining movement through multiple gates without losing your aim. If you liked Halo's pace but want spatial puzzles layered into the gunfights, this adds that dimension without overcomplicating the shooting itself.
