Target Earth is a side-scrolling mech shooter alternating between two level types. Surface missions—on planets and moons—play as run-and-gun platformers where you navigate terrain on foot, jumping gaps and blasting robots. Space stages remove gravity entirely, letting your mech drift in any direction while fighting. You pilot a 12-foot Assault Suit in 2201, defending Earth's colonies from a returning cyborg army called Chron (survivors of a century-old failed expedition). Loadout options include machine guns, lasers, and grenades you swap between missions. Levels span Ganymede, open space, Earth's surface, and enemy bases. The mech handles differently depending on environment—grounded movement vs. zero-G drift—so you're adjusting tactics constantly. Best for players who want straightforward shooting with light platforming and don't mind 16-bit difficulty spikes.
