The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
Action-adventure game where you sail a cartoon-styled ocean solving dungeons and puzzles. You control Link, who teams up with pirate captain Tetra after a giant bird kidnaps his sister. The Great Sea replaces Hyrule's usual landmass—dozens of small islands scattered across open water you navigate using a talking boat called the King of Red Lions. Combat and dungeon mechanics follow the series' established template: swing sword, use items to solve environmental puzzles, defeat bosses. The cel-shaded art gives everything bold outlines and flat colors instead of realistic textures. Sailing between islands takes real time, though you can adjust wind direction. Exploration rewards include heart pieces, rupees, and charts marking treasure locations. Light RPG elements let you upgrade equipment. If you want traditional Zelda structure transplanted onto a nautical map, this delivers that.
