Toki is a side-scrolling platformer where you play as a jungle warrior transformed into a monkey by an evil wizard. Your girlfriend's been kidnapped, and you're stuck with fur and a tail until you reach the wizard's palace. The twist: you spit projectiles to fight enemies instead of using typical melee attacks. You'll jump across platforms, dodge hazards, and blast through multi-stage levels filled with creatures and traps. The game mixes standard platforming with constant ranged combat—you're always firing while moving. Each stage ends with a boss encounter before you progress closer to the palace. It's straightforward arcade action from the late '80s, focused on reflexes and pattern recognition rather than exploration or complex mechanics.
