Tribes: Ascend is a multiplayer first-person shooter built around high-speed movement and flag captures. You ski across maps by gliding down slopes to build momentum, then use jetpacks to launch across terrain at extreme velocities. The core mode is capture the flag, where coordinated teams defend their base while sending fast-moving flag runners into enemy territory. Classes range from light armor scouts who zip across the map to heavy defenders who lock down chokepoints. Combat happens mid-air as often as on the ground—you're leading shots on targets moving 200+ km/h. Success depends on timing flag grabs, clearing enemy defenses, and protecting your own carrier. It's the fourth entry in the Tribes series, keeping the franchise's emphasis on physics-based momentum over traditional run-and-gun shooting.
