Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders
Point-and-click adventure where you control a tabloid reporter who discovers aliens are making people dumber through phone lines. After a weird dream tips him off, Zak teams up with three others—anthropologist Annie, Melissa, and Leslie—to dismantle the alien tech. You'll switch between all four characters, solving puzzles by combining verb commands (Pick Up, Give, Use) with objects and people. The game spans multiple countries and even space; some puzzles have alternate solutions or can be skipped entirely. Expect inventory-swapping when characters meet up and a fair bit of backtracking across continents. The structure's non-linear, so you'll bounce between protagonists as needed. If you like old-school adventure logic and don't mind trial-and-error, this delivers a goofy premise with actual mechanical freedom.
