Zork III: The Dungeon Master
Zork III is a text adventure where you navigate a dungeon using typed commands to solve puzzles and progress. You start on a spiral staircase with a lantern, stripped of items from earlier games. A voice tells you this is your final test. The game focuses on logic puzzles and inventory management—you'll examine objects, manipulate mechanisms, and piece together what previous explorers left behind. Expect to map corridors mentally, since there's no automap. Death is permanent until you restore a save. The parser understands two-word commands and some longer phrases. If you solved Zork I and II, this concludes the trilogy's arc. If not, it's playable standalone but references events you won't recognize. Suits patient players who don't mind replaying sections after fatal mistakes.
