Battle Brothers

Turn-based tactical RPG where you run a mercenary company in a low-magic medieval setting. Between fights, you travel a procedurally generated world map—taking contracts for coin, looting sites, restocking in towns, hiring recruits. You decide which jobs to accept, who joins your roster, and how to spend experience and equipment on each soldier. Combat switches to a separate tactical grid where positioning and gear choices matter. Battles are lethal; mercs die permanently if you're careless. The campaign has no fixed story path. Your company's survival depends on managing funds, keeping morale up, and not biting off contracts you can't handle. Expect tough calls about whether to retreat or push for a risky payday.
