BattleBlock Theater is a platformer where you're a shipwrecked prisoner forced to perform in deadly stage shows for an audience of cats. Your best friend Hatty now wears a cursed top hat and works against you. You'll run, jump, and punch through levels built from collapsing blocks, sticky walls, bouncy volcanic rocks, and spike traps, dodging water hazards and hostile creatures. The theater's feline wardens watch as you navigate these gauntlet courses. Collect gems to unlock other crew members as playable characters. Controls stay simple throughout, but level layouts grow trickier as the cats' mental state unravels. The story unfolds through stick-puppet cutscenes with a narrator explaining the theater's grim history and Hatty's possession. Co-op lets a second player join the chaos.
