Chrono Cross

Turn-based RPG where you recruit over 40 characters across two parallel dimensions. You play as Serge, who shifts between worlds where he's alive in one and dead for a decade in the other. Combat uses Elements—items that cast spells and summon creatures—instead of traditional MP. Each party member has unique abilities and backstory, though not all get equal screen time. The dimensional split drives the plot: figuring out why two timelines exist and what your role is in both.
