Dota 2 is a free-to-play MOBA where two five-player teams fight to destroy the opposing Ancient, a structure at the heart of each base. You pick from over 120 heroes—all unlocked from the start—and spend 30-60 minutes per match leveling up, buying items, and coordinating with teammates to push lanes and secure objectives. Each match resets completely; there's no persistent progression between games. The roster gets frequent balance patches and occasional new heroes, keeping the meta shifting. Matches demand map awareness, last-hitting for gold, and tight teamwork during clashes. It's complex and unforgiving for newcomers but rewards mastery of timing, positioning, and draft strategy.
