Gorf

Gorf is a 1981 arcade shooter that cycles through five distinct space combat scenarios. You start with a Space Invaders-style wave, then face formations that peel off and dive-bomb your position. The fourth stage throws enemies through a circular hyperspace portal—destroy four to advance. The finale pits you against a massive mothership dropping ordnance from above; hit the weak point between its hull sections to win. Clear all five and the loop restarts at higher difficulty. Each stage plays differently but shares the same shoot-dodge-survive core. It's essentially five mini-games in one cabinet, each borrowing ideas from early '80s arcade hits but packaged as a single progressive gauntlet.
