IL-2 Sturmovik

IL-2 Sturmovik is a flight simulator focused on World War II aerial combat. You'll fly Soviet and German aircraft through single-player missions that include dogfights, ground attack runs, search-and-destroy objectives, and escort duties. The 3D environments aim for realism rather than arcade accessibility—expect to manage altitude, speed, and aircraft damage as you would in an actual warplane. Mission variety keeps the campaign from feeling repetitive, though you're always operating solo rather than commanding squadrons. If you want a sim that doesn't hold your hand through takeoff and landing procedures, this delivers that level of commitment to authenticity.
