In the Hunt is a horizontal scrolling shooter where you pilot a submarine through flooded post-apocalyptic waters. The world's been drowned by magnetic weapons that melted the ice caps, and a military regime called D.A.S. now controls what's left. You're part of a resistance force using the Granvia sub to destroy their arsenal before they complete a new superweapon. Levels take you through submerged cities, enemy installations, and eventually D.A.S. headquarters. The sub fires torpedoes and surface missiles, can deploy depth charges, and moves slower than typical shmup ships—positioning matters more than twitch reflexes. You'll dodge mines, fight battleships, and navigate cramped underwater passages. Originally an Irem arcade game from 1993, later ported to Saturn, PlayStation, and PC.
