Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards

Kirby 64 is a 2.5D platformer where you collect 74 crystal shards across six worlds. Dark Matter has shattered a protective crystal from the fairy planet Ripple Star, and Kirby teams up with Ribbon—a fairy who crash-landed on Pop Star—to recover the pieces. The hook: combine two Copy Abilities to create hybrid powers. Swallow a fire enemy and an ice enemy, and you'll get a new attack neither provides alone. Boss fights cap each world, and you'll revisit stages to grab missed shards once you've unlocked the right ability combos. The side-scrolling action uses polygonal characters on pre-rendered backgrounds, giving it a distinct look for the N64 era. Completionists hunting all 74 shards unlock the true ending.
