Lifeline is a text-based survival game built around asynchronous messaging. You're contacted by Taylor, an astronaut stranded after a crash on an alien moon. The entire game unfolds through a chat interface—Taylor sends you messages describing their situation, and you respond with advice on where to go, what to investigate, or how to handle immediate threats. Decisions happen in real time: if Taylor says they're hiking to a distant structure, you'll wait actual hours before the next message arrives. There's no reloading checkpoints mid-conversation. Your choices determine whether Taylor finds shelter, avoids hostile life, or succumbs to injury and isolation. The format works if you're comfortable with a game that fits around your schedule rather than demanding a sitting.
