Mortal Kombat II is a one-on-one fighting game that expands the roster and brutality of the original. You pick from twelve fighters—including newcomers Kitana, Mileena, and Kung Lao—and battle through Outworld's tournament after the villain Shang Tsung lures Earth's warriors into hostile territory. Matches play out in best-of-three rounds with punches, kicks, special moves, and the series' signature Fatalities, now joined by additional finishing moves like Babalities and Friendships. Each character has distinct abilities: Kitana throws razor fans, Kung Lao tosses his bladed hat. The arcade version introduced hidden fighter Noob Saibot and end boss Shao Kahn. Outworld's arenas range from acid pits to living forests. It's built for players who want faster, gorier fights than the first game delivered, with more ways to humiliate opponents after the final hit.
