Mount & Blade: Warband

Mount & Blade: Warband is a medieval combat sandbox where you recruit soldiers, fight battles, and carve out territory in the fictional continent of Calradia. You start as a lone warrior and build a warband by hiring troops from villages and towns. Combat happens in real-time—you directly control your character while commanding units on the battlefield. Between fights, you manage your army's morale, upgrade equipment, and navigate faction politics. The game lets you serve existing kingdoms as a vassal, strike out as a mercenary, or eventually claim land and royalty for yourself. Battles scale from small skirmishes to sieges with hundreds of troops. There's no fixed story; your goals are whatever you make them.
