New Super Mario Bros. Wii

Side-scrolling platformer where you run, jump, and stomp through 2.5D levels as Mario or his friends. Up to four players can tackle stages simultaneously—the first time cooperative and competitive play coexisted in this series since the original arcade game. You'll navigate standard platforming fare: timed jumps, enemy patterns, secret exits. Two power-ups debut here: the Propeller Mushroom lets you helicopter upward for a few seconds, while the Penguin Suit adds belly-sliding and better traction on ice. Bowser Jr. crashes Peach's birthday party, stuffs her in an airship, and you chase him across multiple worlds. More stages and enemies than the DS predecessor, designed for living-room chaos when four people occupy the same screen. Friendly fire is on—you can bounce off allies or accidentally knock them into pits.
